Zego Renews Clearspeed Partnership for Voice-Based Fraud Detection, Boosting Claim Abandonments and Settlements
Leading insurtech company Zego has renewed its partnership with Clearspeed for voice-based risk assessment in claims management. The collaboration has shown promising results, leading to a significant increase in claim abandonments and disruption of organized fraud rings.
The partnership has led to a tenfold increase in claim abandonments, suggesting suspicious activity. On average, it has resulted in fraud savings of £550 per claim. Ian Kershaw, VP of customer service, claims and fraud at Zego, expressed delight in continuing the partnership with Clearspeed, citing its effectiveness in triaging motor claims.
Clearspeed's voice analytics technology has generated measurable value for Zego. It has provided a 30X return on investment and a 40% rise in immediate settlements. The technology is embedded in Zego's motor claims process, using vocal characteristics to assess risk levels. Low-risk claims are processed quickly, while higher-risk or potentially fraudulent ones are flagged for further review. Manjit Rana, EVP of insurance at Clearspeed, stated that the renewal is about being smarter together and raising the bar for insurers and the insured.
Zego has seen a 60% uplift in UK growth in June 2025, with private car insurance contributing to this growth. The renewal of the partnership with Clearspeed is expected to further boost these figures, as the voice-based risk assessment continues to deliver transparent, cost-effective, and efficient car insurance quotes.
