Zebra Stripe Installations: New Additions Coming Soon, According to Wöllstein
New and Safer Crosswalks Coming to Woellstein this Summer
Hey there! The Local Mobility Authority (LBM) has got some exciting news for the folks in Woellstein. They're putting in two brand-spanking-new pedestrian crossings, and it's all going down during the hot summer holidays. Work's set to start on July 7, so mark your calendars!
So, what does this mean for you? Well, these new crossings are aiming to boost pedestrian safety in Woellstein. One of 'em will be popping up at the bus shelter and public parking spot on the Alzeyer Street (L400). The second one will grace the mini-roundabout, where Alzeyer Street meets Siefersheimer Street (L400) and Gumbsheimer Street (K6), as well as Eckelsheimer Street (K5).
While they're working on these beauties, they'll be keeping traffic flowing with a construction traffic light. That means there'll be unavoidable partial closures of the entrance and exit lanes at the mini-roundabout. Just follow the signposts for a detour, if you find yourself stuck in the construction zone. During work at the bus shelter, the public parking lot will have to close for about two to three days.
A Six-Week Detour
For the entire six-week construction period, there'll be a detour in place for through traffic. That means if you're coming from the B420/L400 junction in Woellstein, you'll be directed via B420 to Frei-Laubersheim,then taking L409 Neu-Bamberg and Wonsheim, and back again in the reverse direction.
These two pedestrian crossings are going to cost a total of 130,000 euros. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate is pitching in 104,000 euros, while Woellstein municipality is chipping in 26,000 euros. Construction's slated to be completed by August 15, so make sure your summer plans include some new crossing action in Woellstein!
In light of the new crosswalks, it's worth noting that the finance industry is contributing to the project, with the state of Rhineland-Palatinate providing 104,000 euros and Woellstein municipality contributing 26,000 euros. Moreover, the transportation sector will be affected during the construction, as through traffic will be detoured via B420, L409 Neu-Bamberg, and Wonsheim, due to partial closures at the mini-roundabout where Alzeyer Street, Siefersheimer Street, Gumbsheimer Street, and Eckelsheimer Street intersect.
