Withdrawal of MaPrimeRenov: Can we still interact with it?

Informal Take:

You heard it right, folks! The government's pulling the plug on the MaPrimeRenov' scheme this sweltering summer. Despite the suspense, you can still chuck your application into the ring. Here's the lowdown.

Government bigwigs spoke up about this during a senate Q&A session on June 4, and it caused quite the kerfuffle. Previously, the Minister of Economy had only hinted that it was on the table without making any firm decisions. But, like ripping off a Band-Aid, the Minister of Housing finally spilled the tea: the main public aid for private dwelling energy renovations will be temporarily thrown under the bus. Eric Lombard, the Minister of Economy, explained that there's a backlog and an abundance of malarkey going down, leading to this decision. Don't fret, though; once these issues are sorted, he said, normal service will be resumed.

As of now, the exact date of the scheme's suspended animation isn't staring us in the face, but the Minister of Housing did mention a "temporary closure this summer for submission of files" related to individual global renovation, insulation, and heating system replacement work. Files related to co-ownership properties, on the other hand, won't be impacted.

File Those Docs, Man!

Since the disconnect hasn't kicked in yet, you can still fire off your application for MaPrimeRenov'. Valerie Létard spoke to BFM Immo and reminded you to keep your documents tight and organized. Once validated, whether the work’s already started or not, you'll be laughing all the way to the bank with that grant money. To help you out, you can hit up the France Rénov website or recruit an approved company to get the job done.

A few details about the scheme's comeback have been tossed our way, but only that it might be possible by the end of September 2025. The renovation framework will undergo some changes to ensure it's clear as day, fast as a cheetah, and trustworthy as a Boy Scout for homeowners and businesses alike.
