Web Presence of SPG Temporarily Down Prior to Upcoming Merger

Saturday Shutdown: Marriott's Bonvoy Unavailable

It's the day many travel enthusiasts have been dreading – Marriott's loyalty program and booking platforms, including SPG.com, are officially going offline this weekend for a scheduled program merger. Alas, here we are, with few options but to wait it out.

The splash page on SPG.com reads "Upgrade in Progress," and it looks like neither cash nor points bookings can be made at the moment. Keep in mind that the chain's websites and apps will likely have their fair share of downtime throughout the day, with customer service representatives experiencing temporary system unavailability as well.

According to a report on Frequent Miler, paid bookings may be possible again as early as 9:30 am Eastern Time, with award bookings kicking back into gear at 2 pm. But remember, these times are subject to change.

In the meantime, why not use your free time to explore some alternative travel-related activities?

  • Consider curating your ideal list of Marriott hotels for future stays once the platforms are back online.
  • Delve into the latest non-Marriott travel news to stay in the loop.
  • Give our top economy, business, and first-class reviews a glance for some travel inspiration.
  • Join Mommy Points and learn the ins and outs of family travel – who knows when you'll need that expertise!
  • Scan through the latest paid and award flight deals to see if any catch your eye.
