Volga-Dnepr Launches New Dublin-Indianapolis Air Freight Lane
Volga-Dnepr Airlines, in collaboration with Silk Way West Airlines, has launched a new daily air freight lane between Dublin and Indianapolis. This move aims to bolster transatlantic freight traffic, particularly for pharmaceutical and e-commerce shipments. The route, operated by AirBridgeCargo (ABC), began on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
The new service connects Dublin's logistics hub directly with the Indianapolis International Airport. This direct link allows goods to reach their destination one day faster, as the route operates four days per week. The collaboration between Volga-Dnepr and Silk Way West Airlines strengthens the transatlantic air freight network, supporting industries like healthcare, electronics, and aerospace.
This development comes amidst Ireland's strong export market, with approximately 68% of its total goods exported to the United States in early 2025, led by pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The new flight also complements FedEx's recent expansion in Indianapolis, where they opened a 16,000-plus-square-foot cold-chain facility. This facility features three temperature zones and a re-icing room, further enhancing the region's freight capabilities.
The new Dublin-Indianapolis air freight lane, operated by Volga-Dnepr and Silk Way West Airlines, is set to enhance transatlantic freight traffic. By reducing delivery times and supporting key industries, this route underscores the growing importance of Ireland and the United States in global trade.
