Vitesco Technologies Taps DHL for Inbound Logistics to Boost CO2 Savings
Vitesco Technologies, a leading supplier of electric powertrain systems, has appointed DHL Supply Chain to oversee inbound shipments from nearly 500 suppliers. This move aims to streamline logistics and support the company's goal of achieving CO2 neutrality by 2040.
DHL Supply Chain will manage around 100,000 annual shipments from 500 suppliers across Europe, centralising logistics control for Vitesco Technologies' 12 plants. The logistics provider will use its extensive freight forwarding and carrier network to bundle volumes and optimise routes, leading to potential cost and carbon savings.
Thomas Kirchermeier, head of supply chain management at Vitesco Technologies, expressed the company's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. By engaging DHL Supply Chain, Vitesco Technologies takes a significant step towards its goal of running its business in a CO2-neutral way by 2040.
