Vietnam-US Partnership Boosts GE Vernova's Expansion in Clean Energy
The Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has strengthened, with a focus on economic and trade cooperation. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính recently met with GE Vernova's CEO, María Victoria 'Mari' Zingoni, to discuss further collaboration.
GE Vernova, present in Vietnam since 1993 and employing around 1,700 staff, has been actively involved in power projects. These include the Nhơn Trạch 3 and 4 thermal power plants, Sơn La and Lai Châu hydropower plants, and various solar and wind projects.
Vietnam, with a large and urgent demand for electricity, is pursuing rapid, sustainable growth. It's promoting clean energy and expanding renewable capacity. GE Vernova plans to expand its presence by supplying equipment for LNG power plants, developing substations, and providing digital solutions.
Prime Minister Chính called on GE Vernova to increase investment and support human resources development in Vietnam. The Vietnamese Government is committed to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the US, to foster further growth and cooperation.
