Urged Subsoil Users to Aid Oymyakon, Said Aysen Nikolayev
In a meeting held in Ust-Nera, key figures from Yakutia's industry and government gathered to discuss assistance for the Oymyakonsky district, which has been severely affected by flooding.
As of mid-2025, the Oymyakonsky district in Yakutia has been battling floodwaters, leading to a regional emergency regime declaration. In response, representatives of the gold mining enterprises voiced their support for Nikolaev's appeal. Equipment and specialists will be dispatched for emergency recovery work in the flooded settlements, with specific enterprises being assigned to each affected settlement to provide assistance.
The meeting also focused on the allocation of financial resources to help those who have lost their homes due to the flooding in Oymyakonsky district. Mikhail Kirillin, the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Geology of the Republic, and Alexander Okonechnikov, the Head of Oymyakonsky District, also provided information at the meeting.
Vladimir Nikonov, deputy general director of one of the enterprises, stated that they are ready to help the affected and that their colleagues won't stand aside either.
