Unspun Welcomes Chris Blakeslee, Former Athleta Exec, to Board
Unspun, the innovative 3D weaving technology company, has welcomed Chris Blakeslee, former Athleta executive, to its board of directors. Blakeslee brings nearly 15 years of apparel leadership experience and will be the company's first independent board member.
Last year, Unspun raised $32 million in a Series B funding round to scale its operations. The company's 3D weaving technology, Vega, transforms yarn into garments within minutes, enabling partnerships with major brands like Walmart and Decathlon. Blakeslee joins existing board members including Unspun co-founders and venture capitalists. He will provide expertise as Unspun scales its technology globally, transforming product speed to market, lowering costs, and mitigating supply chain risks. Blakeslee is particularly known for his leadership role in the aerospace industry, having served as Principal Chief Executive Officer at Axiom Space, Inc. Before joining Unspun's board, he held various executive and technical roles at prominent aerospace companies such as EADS North America, Honeywell Aerospace, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin.
With Chris Blakeslee's appointment, Unspun strengthens its board with a seasoned apparel industry leader. Blakeslee's expertise will be invaluable as Unspun continues to scale its innovative 3D weaving technology, transforming the textile industry and solidifying its partnerships with major brands.
