"Unique Feature in 'Assassin's Creed Shadows' Stirs Debate"
Rewritten Article
Assassin's Creed Shadows is almost here, hitting shelves on March 20th, and boy, I'm bumpin' with curiosity! As reviews trickle in, I can't help but wonder about the practicality of certain features, one of those being the new "Canon Mode."
Canon Mode, baby! It's like a choo-choo train taking away your sweet, sweet choices and serving up a pre-set narrative that Ubisoft declares the official canon story moving forward. But it ain't all bad, see?
I gotta admit, I'm kinda diggin' it! Then again, it's raised a few questions. If there's a Canon Mode, why bother with choices at all? Seems to me like they ain't exactly the be-all, end-all if Ubisoft ain't even tryna make 'em stick.
I reckon it's gonna be put to the test with the upcoming Mass Effect 5. The last time we were in that galaxy, we got to choose our ending, and it'd transform the world, you feel me? Now, they gotta pick a winner, and the chosen one will be the canon. Same goes for BioWare's "FemShep" being the canon Shepard. But would I wanna lose my choices completely in a game like Mass Effect? Hell, no!

But Assassin's Creed? I don't need no choices in my life there, boyo. It's not the kinda game where I care to call the shots. Give me the "real" narrative, and I'll be a happy camper. Strangely enough, both modes are there regardless.
Now, there's a whole heap of games with a tight narrative that ain't got no choice at all, thank the stars. The Last of Us, for instance, where if ya had to pick whether Joel saves Ellie or fights her off with a shootout? That just ain't right. That'd wreck the whole concept of the sequel. No, no, no Canon Mode is needed there, let's keep it that way.
I ain't sure if I'll take a spin in the Canon Mode for Assassin's Creed Shadows, but as I said, I'm still debatin' it. So what about you?

Assassin's Creed Shadows' Canon Mode, a pre-set narrative, might influence the official story moving forward, linking it to the game's choices in a way that raises questions. On platforms like LinkedIn, discussions may arise about game narratives that solely present a linear narrative, such as The Last of Us, where options could disrupt the story's coherence. Meanwhile, I'm still deliberating whether to embrace the Canon Mode in Assassin's Creed Shadows or stick with my preference for choosing my own path, as seen in games like Mass Effect, where player choices significantly impact the narrative.
