Ukraine Launches Major Strikes Against Russian Troops and Energy Infrastructure
Ukraine's military has launched a series of strikes against Russian troop concentrations and command posts, using drones and missiles. The attacks, which targeted energy infrastructure in Kharkiv and Poltava regions, came as Russia claimed advances on the frontlines and hit Ukraine's defence industry transportation. Meanwhile, Ukraine has ramped up gas imports and plans to stockpile a significant amount by mid-October.
Ukraine's air force, missile units, and artillery forces carried out attacks on Russian troops and command posts. Drones and missiles were used to target energy infrastructure in Kharkiv and Poltava regions. Russia, in response, claimed advances on the frontlines and struck transportation infrastructure of Ukraine's defence industry. DTEK Oil & Gas has suspended operations at several gas facilities in the Poltava region due to the Russian attacks.
Ukraine has stepped up its military activities, reporting attacks on multiple fronts, including in the directions of Kupiansk, Toretsk, and Novopavlivka. The country has also increased gas imports and plans to stockpile 13.2 billion cubic metres of gas by mid-October, including 4.6 billion cubic metres of imported gas.
The recent military activities and energy sector attacks highlight the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine's determination to defend its territory and ensure energy security is evident in its military operations and gas stockpiling efforts. Russia's response to these actions remains a significant concern.
