U.S. Dominates Global Ultra-Wealthy Scene, Net Worth Surges
The United States continues to dominate the global ultra-wealthy scene, according to the latest Altrata World Ultra Wealth Report. It boasts nearly four times as many ultra-wealthy individuals as its closest rival, China.
The U.S. is home to 38% of the world's ultra-wealthy population, outstripping the combined share of the next nine countries. These individuals, with a net worth over $30 million, represent just 1% of the global millionaire population but control a staggering 32% of their wealth.
The U.S. ultra-wealthy population surged by 21% in 2024 and another 6.5% in the first half of 2025. By June 2025, their total net worth reached $59.8 trillion, more than double the U.S. annual GDP. This growth is expected to continue, with India, China, and Southeast Asian countries showing the fastest growth rates in the number of ultra-wealthy individuals. Technology, finance, and real estate are driving this growth in these regions.
North America, led by the U.S., experienced a record 41% growth in ultra-wealthy numbers. Florida, Utah, and Texas are forecast to see the fastest growth in ultra-high-net-worth numbers within the U.S.
The U.S. remains the unchallenged powerhouse for the global elite, with its ultra-wealthy population surging and their collective wealth soaring. While growth is expected worldwide, the U.S. continues to dominate the ultra-wealthy landscape.
