Tunnel Section B14, linking Shadow Ring and Heslacher Tunnel, to allow single-track traffic by this Saturday.

The upcoming Christopher Street Day (CSD) on July 26, 2025, and ongoing infrastructure work will cause significant traffic disruptions on Rotebühlstraße in the city. To ensure the smoothest possible traffic flow during the event, changes in traffic guidance and the use of alternative entrances to the city are suggested until Saturday morning.

Due to the CSD parade and ongoing infrastructure works, the number of lanes has been reduced to one lane per direction on the affected section of Rotebühlstraße. A temporary speed limit of 30 km/h has been imposed to maintain safety around the traffic technology work.

From 6 a.m. on the event day, vehicle traffic will be fully closed on Rotebühlstraße, with no parking or stopping allowed along the route from early morning. The parade route runs along Rotebühlstraße, impacting traffic flow significantly from mid-day.

To accommodate the CSD parade, tunnel sections of B14 nearby have been partially re-opened as an alternative route to help maintain traffic flow during the event. Various bus lines (41, 42, 43, 44, 92) will not stop at their usual stations on Rotebühlplatz/Stadtmitte and Schlossplatz during the event, with replacement stops provided instead.

The affected stretch is also part of a major cycling route (Hauptradroute 1), which will be closed between Tübinger Straße and Holzstraße from 6 a.m. to about 6 p.m., with designated detours via Heusteigstraße and Olgastraße.

Drivers are advised to use alternative city access routes and avoid the inner city during the CSD day and until the morning after (Saturday) as the city expects heavy congestion caused by the CSD and other simultaneous large events.

The traffic guidance on the affected stretch of road is subject to change, and road users are asked to observe the changed traffic guidance. The temporary speed limit of 30 km/h on the affected stretch of road remains in effect, and the number of lanes on the affected stretch of road remains reduced to one lane per direction.

The changes in traffic guidance and the use of alternative entrances are likely to facilitate the Christopher Street Day (CSD) on the Rotebühlstraße, making it a more enjoyable and safer event for all participants.

In light of the CSD parade and infrastructure works, alternative transportation options may prove beneficial for both the public-transit users and those who rely on personal vehicles. Alongside the temporary closure of car traffic on Rotebühlstraße, certain bus lines (41, 42, 43, 44, 92) will modify their stops during the event, while the cycling route (Hauptradroute 1) will also have detours in place. Moreover, the finance industry and related businesses might experience disruptions due to the reduced access to the city center during this time, which could also stretch into the morning after the event.
