Train debuts on Almaty-Saratov route, featuring innovative vehicles.

In a significant stride towards modernizing its rail network, JSC "Passenger Transportation" has recently acquired 318 new carriages from LLP "ZIKSTO". These new carriages are now running on several key routes across Kazakhstan, including Aktau - Atyrau, Pavlodar - Turkestan, Kyzylorda - Semey, and Almaty - Pavlodar.

The first batch of 100 carriages is expected to arrive this year, with each train consisting of ten carriages, five of which are sleeping and five seating. The new trains can carry over 400 passengers in one direction, providing a much-needed boost to capacity on these busy routes.

The new carriages come equipped with several features designed to enhance comfort and accessibility. They include spaces for passengers with disabilities and a conductor call button. These features align with the trends seen in modern rail services, such as the Russian Railways' "Aurora" high-speed train, which includes a staff car that can accommodate passengers with disabilities.

The new trains have made their debut on the Almaty-2 - Saratov route, although specific details about this service are not extensively covered in the available search results. However, the train is reported to run on even days, departing from Almaty station at 20:00 and arriving at Saratov station the next day at 10:10 Moscow time. The return trip from Saratov is at 14:55, arriving at Almaty station the next day at 06:54 local time.

It is planned to deliver another 350 carriages in stages from 2025 to 2027, with additional trains appointed on the route Aktau - Nur-Sultan. The sleeping carriages are equipped with ergonomic sleeping places, individual LED lights, USB ports, and power sockets, aiming to provide a comfortable travel experience for passengers.

Meanwhile, the tourist train Jibek Joly is scheduled for its fifth tour to Uzbekistan, further expanding the reach and appeal of Kazakhstan's modern rail network. The new carriages were produced at the plant in Petropavlovsk, marking a significant step forward in Kazakhstan's rail modernization efforts.

As JSC "Passenger Transportation" continues to update its fleet, it aims to have the entire fleet modernized by 2030. This ambitious plan underscores the company's commitment to providing efficient, comfortable, and accessible rail services to the people of Kazakhstan.
