In an unexpected incident, a train collision occurred on the Vogtlandbahn route from Falkenstein to Plauen this morning at approximately 5:00 AM. The collision was with a shopping cart located on the tracks near Treuen station.

Initial findings suggest that the shopping cart may have been thrown from the nearby bridge on Weißensander Straße or brought there from that street. The local fire department swiftly removed the shopping cart that was stuck under the train.

The Federal Police have initiated an investigation into this incident, which they are classifying as a dangerous interference with rail traffic. No one was injured in the collision, and there were five passengers on the train.

The railway line was closed until 06:48 due to the incident, resulting in one train being cancelled and another being delayed. The object appears to be the property of the Netto-Markendiscount.
