Traffic flow in South Brandenburg to remain disrupted until Monday's end
A technical defect in a signal box on the line between Torgau and Uebigau is causing disruptions on the regional rail route between Doberlug-Kirchhain and Leipzig.
The faulty signal box, which controls train operations, is located on a section of the route between Torgau and Uebigau. As a result, regional trains have been affected, and a bus replacement service (Schienenersatzverkehr) has been established particularly between Torgau and Doberlug-Kirchhain.
The Deutsche Bahn spokesperson reported that these issues would last at least until Sunday morning of the weekend around August 10, 2025. Trains on the RE 10 line have been unable to make stops at certain stations during this time, and passengers are advised to verify their connections due to the disruptions.
The route in question runs between the southern Brandenburg town of Doberlug-Kirchhain and Leipzig. The announcement of the disruption's continuation was made by Deutsche Bahn, suggesting that the problem is expected to be resolved shortly thereafter, though no exact restoration date beyond that was specified.
Passengers are encouraged to stay informed about the ongoing situation, as the disruptions are expected to continue until Monday morning. The Deutsche Bahn advises passengers to check their connections and plan their travel accordingly.
Due to the technical issue with the signal box on the Torgau to Uebigau line, which is part of the rail route from Doberlug-Kirchhain to Leipzig, the regional train services and public-transit transportation have been affected. The finance and transportation industry could potentially experience a setback due to the disruptions on the RE 10 line, as passengers may opt for alternative modes of transportation until the issues are resolved.
