Traffic congestion alert in Volga embankment region

In a recent announcement, the city administration's press service has announced a temporary traffic suspension in several parts of Nizhny Novgorod. The suspension will affect the Volga Embankment, Sovnarkom Street, Strelka Street, Betankur Street, Meshchersky Boulevard, Samarkand Street, and Dolzhanaya Street, as well as certain car parks, from August 19 to 21.

Starting from 00:01 on August 19, the traffic on the Volga Embankment will be suspended for the entire day. The suspension will also extend to the following streets: Volga Embankment (from house No.13 on Volga Embankment Street to Sovnarkom Street), Sovnarkom Street (from the Volga Embankment to Samarkand Street), and Strelka Street (from house No.7 to house No.3A - Alexander Nevsky Cathedral).

On August 20-21, the suspension will also affect Samarkand Street (from Strelka Street to Betankur Street) and Strelka Street if there is traffic congestion. Additional streets included in the suspension are Meshchersky Boulevard to Samarkand Street, Samarkand Street (from Betankur Street to Dolzhanaya Street), Dolzhanaya Street, and car parks on Betankur Street.

Detours will be organized via adjacent streets during the suspension. Drivers are advised to familiarize themselves with the traffic scheme in advance, be extremely cautious, and follow traffic signs. Vehicles left within the restricted zone will be towed during the suspension.

At this time, no information about alternative transportation options during the suspension is available. However, it is recommended to check official city transportation or municipal websites, local traffic authorities, or news outlets from the region around that time for accurate and timely details on traffic changes and detours.

The city administration has also asked drivers to move their vehicles outside the restricted zones in advance to avoid any inconvenience. Further details about the reason for the traffic suspension are not yet provided. Stay tuned for more updates.
