Sports retailer Profmax announces shutdown of operations, with three remaining stores in Yekaterinburg selling merchandise at reduced prices - Business Quarter, Yekaterinburg.

Traditional stores affiliated with the most ancient brand in the Ural region are shutting down operations.

In Yekaterinburg's retail scene, Profmax store closures are making waves. This brand, rooted in the Ural region, has been around since 2003, making it one of the city's oldest homegrown names.

Despite the brand's rich history, Profmax has recently decided to call it quits in Yekaterinburg. The decision was publicly announced on their website in May 2025. As of now, only three stores remain open - two on Kosmonavtov Avenue and Bardina Street, and one in the "Megapolis" shopping center. The store in "Megamart" in Kamensk-Uralsky is still operating, selling discounted stock. However, these stores' days are numbered, likely to shut down soon.

Our source reported earlier that Profmax is also closing shop in Tyumen. The suspense started in early January 2025, when two stores – one in the "Arsib" shopping center and another on Republic Street – halted operations. By April 22, two more stores had joined the list of closures.

Tracing back to 2013, the network underwent a major rebranding. At that time, Profmax managed 25 stores across Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, and Tyumen regions.

Originally, the network positioned itself as a hub for sports and active recreation. Today, they offer a broad assortment of life and leisure clothing, including sportswear and the trendy casual style, as confirmed by the company's head, Andrei Sukhodeyev.

While it's not uncommon for businesses to scale back or close stores, it's essential to consult local news sources or Business directories for the most accurate and up-to-date information on Profmax or any other business in Yekaterinburg and Tyumen.

I'm not sure if Profmax will be closing its store in the Megamart in Kamensk-Uralsky by 2025, but it's likely since all other Yekaterinburg stores have announced closures. The decision to shut down stores was publicly announced on Profmax's website in May 2025. Profmax, a storied retailer in Yekaterinbourg since 2003, originally focused on sports and activewear. Today, company head Andrei Sukhodeyev confirms it offers a broad assortment of lifestyle and leisure clothing, including sportswear and trendy casual style. For more accurate and up-to-date information on Profmax or any other business in Yekaterinburg and Tyumen, consult local news sources or business directories.
