In the first half of 2025, Turkey has witnessed a significant surge in its exports to Africa, with total exports nearing $10 billion. The Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM) provided the data for this period.

The top African markets for Turkish exports include Morocco, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Morocco, with its strategic location and strengthened bilateral ties, emerged as the top African recipient of Turkish goods, importing $1.8 billion worth of products. This represents a $345 million increase from the same period last year.

Egypt follows closely, importing $1.6 billion worth of Turkish goods, while Libya imported $1.3 billion. Tunisia imported $554.1 million, South Africa $303.5 million, and Nigeria $242.3 million.

Chemical products were the top export from Turkey to Africa, totaling $1.3 billion. Steel was the third most exported product, with $942.4 million, and textiles and raw materials the fourth, with $675.5 million. Automotive products were the fifth most exported, with $619 million.

The second most exported product was cereals, grains, oilseeds, and derivatives, with $1.2 billion. Notably, Turkey saw strong export growth to Morocco ($345 million increase), Libya ($262 million), the Democratic Republic of Congo ($103 million), Niger ($91.5 million), and Ghana ($68.1 million).

These figures underscore the growing importance of Africa as a key market for Turkish exports. Improved bilateral relations and Turkey's proximity have undoubtedly contributed to this trend.
