The Return of the Powerful Ram TRX

In an exciting turn of events for the automotive industry, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa has confirmed the return of the Ram TRX during the company's first-half earnings call. This high-performance truck model from the Ram brand is making a comeback after a hiatus, much to the delight of truck enthusiasts and the automotive community.

The Ram TRX will be powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine, a configuration that was previously rumored to be discontinued. This engine will deliver a mighty 702 horsepower and an impressive 650 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. With such performance specifications, the Ram TRX is expected to reach 0-60 mph in approximately 4.5 seconds.

The 2025 Ram TRX, already presented, is set to be released mid-2025, and the 2026 model updates have been announced as coming soon. Both models are expected to maintain similar power figures, with no confirmed increase in power beyond 702 hp as of mid-2025. Pricing is expected to remain close to prior models.

The 2025 Ram TRX boasts a bold, aggressive design with a functional hood scoop, a redesigned grille for improved airflow, and an off-road optimized front bumper. Inside, the truck combines ruggedness with premium touches like suede and leather performance seats, carbon fiber trim, and a large 12-inch touchscreen with the latest Uconnect system.

The return of the Ram TRX marks a significant event in the automotive industry. Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis, known for his machismo and bragadocio approach, is delivering V8 pickup trucks that the people want. This move aligns with Ram's strategy to mirror Ford's performance lineup, with the twin-turbo I6-powered RHO fighting the normal Raptor and the TRX going against the Raptor R, which makes 720 hp.

The production of the Ram TRX will reportedly begin in January 2026. The launch of this powerful truck is expected to generate additional volumes and accredited margins per unit, as mentioned by Filosa. The Ram TRX's return is expected to generate excitement and anticipation among truck enthusiasts, further cementing Ram's position in the high-performance truck market.
