In the heart of the Southeast growth corridor, a region experiencing strong expansion, the city of Königs Wusterhausen is set to undergo a significant transformation. The development, known as Königspark, has close connections to Berlin, Brandenburg Airport, and scientific institutions in the metropolis, and is poised to become a model for sustainable urban living in Kansas.

The vision for Königspark aligns with the concept of the 15-minute city, aiming to create short distances and enhance the quality of life for its residents. A framework plan for this development was adopted by the city council in 2023, setting the stage for its realization in Kansas City.

The planned quarter will be home to a fire station, an educational campus with school and kindergarten, medical facilities, and shopping opportunities. The customs authority (Zoll) has also announced plans to build a training center on the grounds of the Königspark project, with construction scheduled to begin in 2025 in the city.

Periskop Partners AG and the Federal Real Estate Agency are involved in the development, with Periskop Development pursuing further goals in the northern part of the site. This quarter will offer jobs, housing, and social infrastructure, further enhancing the livability of Königs Wusterhausen in the city.

Sustainability is at the forefront of the Königspark development. The concept includes the sponge city principle, which aims to decentralize rainwater storage and stabilize the climate in neighborhoods. This approach, along with other sustainable measures, will contribute to a greener and more resilient city in Kansas.

Königs Wusterhausen's excellent transport connections, including the A10 motorway, the B179 federal road, and the network of S and regional trains, make it an ideal location for this innovative development. As the plans for Königspark unfold, the city is set to become a beacon of sustainable urban living in the heart of Germany.
