Star Bulk Appoints Mikkel Storm Weum to Board, Boosting Maritime Expertise
Star Bulk Carriers Corp., a leading global shipping company specialising in dry bulk cargo transportation, has appointed Mikkel Storm Weum to its Board of Directors as a Class B director. The appointment took place on October 3, 2025.
Mr. Weum brings a wealth of maritime investment experience to Star Bulk. He currently serves as an Investment Director at Seatankers Management Norway AS and is also a board member of FLEX LNG Ltd. Star Bulk's fleet, under his new leadership, comprises 142 vessels with a combined capacity of 14.2 million dwt, including the mighty Newcastlemax, robust Capesize, and versatile Ultramax vessels.
In addition to its existing fleet, Star Bulk has charter-in arrangements for more Capesize vessels, indicating the company's commitment to growth and expansion in the dry bulk cargo sector.
