StandardAero Welcomes Back Michael L. Kaplan as Chief Legal Officer
StandardAero has announced a significant change in its legal leadership. Michael L. Kaplan, a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience, will return to the company as Chief Legal Officer. This appointment follows the retirement of Steve Sinquefield, who has served in the role for over a decade.
Kaplan brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has held leadership positions in various industries, including aerospace, and has expertise in compliance, governance, and corporate transactions. Most recently, he served as senior counsel at Norton Rose Fulbright. Prior to this, Kaplan held several roles at StandardAero, including senior vice president, general counsel, chief security officer, and secretary.
Steve Sinquefield, who is stepping down at the end of 2025 after a 40-year career in aviation law, will remain with StandardAero to ensure a smooth transition. Russell Ford, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, praised Sinquefield's outstanding service and central role in the company's transformation and success. Kaplan will report directly to Ford upon his return on October 6, 2025.
