Southern France's Train Expansion: High-Speed Trains Debut in Marseille-Toulon-Nice Corridor
Sixteen badass trains are rolling into France in 2025, ready to rock the Marseille–Toulon–Nice line like never before.
Double the fun, fully revamped ride
Thanks to the Sud Region, competition's on, baby! This means double the rail action on the coastal axis:
- 1 train per hour, Mon–Fri (14 trips, 16 on weekends),
- Subscriber fares ain't changin',

The spankin' new Alstom Omneo Premium trains got your back:
- Classy rides with room for luggage,
- Newbie features: Wi-Fi, entertainment hub, local grub, and bike storage (12 spots per train),
- Easy peasy boarding for PRM folks,
- Enhanced customer service on board: passenger gurus and security pounds with body cams, plus extra video surveillance.
French-made and eco-friendly rail ride extraordinaire
The 16 trains of pure awesomeness are crafted by Alstom at their site in Crespin, in the Hauts-de-France region. With a length of 110 meters, each train can seat 400 passengers and accommodate up to 730 in double configurations. These beasts cruise up to 200 km/h (160 km/h on the existing line) and run on only green juice. They're here to replace the old Corail trains that just ain't got it anymore.
To keep 'em purring like a kitten, a 2,000 m2 site has been built in Nice, followin' an eco-friendly approach. It'll ensure top-notch maintenance and maximum availability of the rolling stock, essential for the promised 97.5% reliability.
Three sick voices singin' the same song
We're the first Region to open up our regional trains to the fight, man. This project's about offerin' an even more kickass public service, with double the trains and the same fares drop by 20%, starting July 1, 2025. More reliable, sustainable, and, at the end of the day, all about servin' the passengers.
