Singapore IRAS Announces 2023 GST Payment Deadlines

Taxpayers in Singapore are reminded of the upcoming Goods and Services Tax (GST) payment deadlines. The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) has announced the dates for both GIRO and non-GIRO taxpayers. Non-GIRO taxpayers have GST payment deadlines set for April 30, July 31, October 31, and January 31 of the following year. For GST returns and payments, both GIRO and non-GIRO taxpayers must submit their returns one month after the end of each accounting period. This means that for GST payment refunds in 2023, the deadlines are one month after the close of the respective taxable period. Taxpayers can request an extension for filing GST returns, but they must do so at least five working days before the deadline. GIRO taxpayers have GST payments deducted on the 15th of the month following the standard payment deadline, with the deduction schedule set for May 15, August 15, November 15, and February 15 for respective accounting periods. Taxpayers are advised to plan their GST payments and returns accordingly to avoid any late penalties. IRAS encourages all taxpayers to stay updated with the latest GST payment and return deadlines.
