Train Delays on Krasnodar Region Line Due to Drone Debris Incident
On August 7, an unexpected incident occurred on the Krasnodar region's line between Timashevskaya and Razyezd. At 05:12, a drone debris incident took place on the section between Velichkovka and Angelynskaya stations, causing a disruption in train traffic.
The drone debris incident led to emergency recovery work, resulting in infrastructure issues that necessitated a reduction in the speed limit and temporary interruptions on that section of the track. This situation caused significant delays for several passenger trains.
A total of seven trains were affected by the incident: No289 Ekaterinburg - Anapa, No11 Moscow - Anapa, No121 St. Petersburg - Novorossiysk, No473 Smolensk - Simferopol, No97 Moscow - Simferopol, No507 Izhevsk - Novorossiysk, and No255 Sosnogorsk - Anapa. Delays ranged from 20 minutes up to more than an hour.
Despite the challenges, no alternate routes or diversions were necessary for the delayed trains. The trains that were affected have since been put back on schedule or have arrived at their final destinations.
Following the restoration of train traffic by 11:22 Moscow time, the Krasnodar region's line Timashevskaya - Razyezd 9 km is operational once again. The number of trains currently operating on the affected line has returned to normal.
It is important to note that no one was injured as a result of the drone debris incident. Furthermore, no additional injuries or damage have been reported following the incident.
