The consumer center's phishing radar has recently flagged a scam targeting Netflix users, with criminals posing as bank employees to gain access to sensitive information. PNC Bank has also reported an increase in such calls to their customers, with scammers attempting to cancel transactions and verify account security. The bank has emphasized that they will never ask for authorization using the security procedure over the phone, email, or SMS.
PNC Bank advises customers to remain vigilant and not to authorize any orders using their security procedure during unsolicited calls. If you suspect a call is fraudulent, hang up immediately and report it to your bank.
