Samsung Drops OneDrive, Users' Photo Backup Routines at Risk

Samsung is set to discontinue its partnership with OneDrive, potentially impacting Samsung Cloud users and their photo backup routines. The tech giant is planning to replace OneDrive with its own cloud backup solution, Samsung Cloud.

In 2019, Microsoft and Samsung joined forces, making OneDrive the default cloud backup solution for photos on Samsung Galaxy phones. This integration allowed users to seamlessly backup and sync their photos via the Gallery app. However, Samsung is now preparing to drop support for OneDrive.

Following the change, OneDrive integration will be removed from the Gallery app. Users will still be able to backup photos using the dedicated OneDrive app, but the convenience and integration with Samsung devices may be affected. Samsung is planning to replace OneDrive with Samsung Cloud for photo backups.

The discontinuation of OneDrive as Samsung's photo backup solution may require users to switch to alternative options, potentially affecting their backup routines. Samsung is preparing to replace OneDrive with Samsung Cloud, but specific consequences for Samsung Cloud users are not yet clear.
