Retail giant MART issues another caution to Wildberries, this time due to an unspecified issue.

Belarus' Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MARТ) has drawn attention to the online marketplace Wildberries for several alleged violations.

Recent regulatory inspections have highlighted concerns about Wildberries hosting items that violate legal norms. The issues include the use of banned state symbols in product listings, presentation of false information about products, and the display or sale of products featuring symbols recognized as extremist.

The MARТ has issued new orders to OOO 'IMVBRB', the owner of Wildberries, to eliminate violations of trade and advertising legislation. However, no new order has been issued regarding the specific violation of Article 9 of the Law "On Counteracting Extremism."

Despite being a large platform, it is impossible for Wildberries to control all goods and prohibited items often appear there. An example of prohibited items found on Wildberries in the summer of 2025 was beer, which was being sold with extremist symbolism.

Wildberries issued a statement emphasizing that, according to the legislation, the responsibility for the offers to sell goods lies directly with the seller.

The MARТ noted that product descriptions on Wildberries contain false information. The previous violations on Wildberries involved products that break the Belarusian law "On State Symbols," specific extremist symbolism, and false information in product descriptions.

The exact details on the exact violations or products involved were not detailed in the available sources. The relevant materials were forwarded to law enforcement for further investigation.

This is not the first time Wildberries has faced regulatory scrutiny in Belarus. In the past, the company has been warned for violating Article 9 of the Law "On Counteracting Extremism."

As the investigation continues, it remains to be seen what penalties or fines, if any, will be imposed on Wildberries for these alleged violations.

The investigation into Wildberries' violations by the MARТ encompasses concerns of false information in product descriptions, use of banned state symbols, and the sale of products with extremist symbols, which are breaches of trade and advertising legislation, as well as the Law "On State Symbols" and "On Counteracting Extremism" in Belarus. Despite Wildberries' claim that sellers are responsible for their product offerings, the platform's ongoing scrutiny in the country hints at a recurring issue with non-compliance.
