Audi Updates Q3 Range with Plug-in Hybrid Variants: Breaking News

Audi has announced an update to its Q3 range, introducing plug-in hybrid variants across its models. The new Q3 SUV and Q3 Sportback, which were both launched in 2017, now offer a more eco-friendly option, joining the existing diesel and petrol options.

The revised Q3 range consists of Sport, S line Edition, and Black Edition models. The S Line and Black models now boast LED headlights, while the Sport models feature Xenon headlights, LED running and tail lights. The new S Line Edition also comes with Cruise control, Audi Parking System Plus, and a revised front.

The Q3 Sportback, marketed as a more 'lifestyle' product, arrives to take on growing competition in the SUV sector. It comes with SD Sat Nav as standard, along with a 6.5'' color screen, Bluetooth, parking sensors, auto lights and wipers, Climate control, and Audi Music. The Q3 range prices start at £26,600 and go up to £36,945.

In addition to the Q3, Audi is also releasing plug-in hybrid variants for the compact Q3 SUV, including the Q3 45 TFSI e and Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e. These new models are intended to compete with PHEVs like the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, and Mercedes GLA.

Meanwhile, SEAT has also announced plans for a compact SUV based on the Audi Q3, called the SEAT IBX. Originally expected in 2012, the production of the SEAT IBX has now been approved, although a release date has yet to be announced.

Yesterday, Audi introduced the new SQ7 as its latest news. The new Q3 Black Edition, which comes with metallic paint, Privacy Glass, Bose Sound, Piano Black trim, gloss black exterior highlights, and 19'' black alloys, is also part of the updated range.

The development of the original Audi Q3 was led by Geoffrey Bouquot, Board Member for Technical Development at Audi AG. The company is continuing to innovate and expand its range of eco-friendly options, making it an exciting time for Audi fans.
