Central Railway's Special Traffic and Power Block Disrupts Suburban Services on August 9-10
On the night of August 9-10, 2025, the Central Railway's Mumbai Division will carry out a Special Traffic and Power Block. This block will significantly impact suburban train services, particularly between Ambarnath and Karjat stations.
During the block period, from 12:10 am to 6:55 am, suburban services will not be available between Ambarnath and Karjat. A total of 21 suburban services will be cancelled on August 9, and additional cancellations/short terminations will affect a total of 48 suburban trains.
The block is designed to facilitate the launching of steel girders for the Lokgram Foot Over Bridge at Kalyan and the de-launching of girders for a proposed Road Over Bridge between Ambarnath and Badlapur using heavy cranes on the slow and fast lines.
Other affected areas include the slow line between CSMT-Dombivli, Titwala-Asangaon stations, and the fast line between Badlapur and CSMT. The special block will operate from 00.10 am to 06.55 am and will affect UP & Down slow lines and Down fast lines.
Passengers are advised to check their train schedules and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Some long-distance trains will be diverted or regulated, such as Train no 11140 Hosapete - CSMT Express and Train no 22158 Chennai Egmore-CSMT Express.
In addition, several suburban trains will be extended or short-terminated due to the block, including the CSMT-Ambarnath local departing CSMT at 7.42 pm being extended to run up to Karjat. The Suburban train departing Badlapur at 06.46 am will be the first Up local after the block on the slow line, while the train departing Badlapur at 11.29 pm will be the last Up local before the block from South east direction.
The last Down local on the fast line before the block for North east direction will be the train departing CSMT at 10.47 pm, and the last Up local before the block from North east direction will be the train departing Asangaon at 11.08 pm.
After the block, the first Down local after the block for North east direction will be the train departing CSMT at 05.51 am, and the first Up local after the block from North east direction will be the train departing Kasara at 04.59 am.
The first Down local on the fast line after the block for South east direction will be the train departing CSMT at 06.10 am, and the first Down local on the slow line after the block for South east direction will be the train departing CSMT at 05.40 am. The first Up local after the block from South east direction will be the train departing Karjat at 04.10 am.
Passengers are advised to stay updated and plan their journeys accordingly, as the block will severely disrupt local suburban traffic overnight on August 9-10, with the stretch between Ambarnath and Karjat fully closed to train services and a number of cancellations and diversions implemented for passenger and long-distance trains.
