Despite the chaos enveloping the Herford construction site, the civil engineer and project manager, Lisa Schewe, maintains a positive outlook. "Things are moving smoothly," she beams.
Trains are expected to resume their journey through Herford this weekend. However, the new bridge won't be ready by then—final completion is scheduled for 2027. There will be two more full-scale construction shutdowns before the project's conclusion.
