Rail service disruptions along the Rhine river
In the Rheingau region, a persistent personnel problem at VIAS GmbH has led to a chronic supply gap in the local public transport system, causing significant disruptions on the RB10 line. Despite scheduled trains running early in the morning until late at night, concerns have been raised about the consistency of service and the availability of replacement transport during disruptions. A duty roster concept has been developed with the works council and employees for more flexible deployment of train drivers.
Finn Weschbach, a former student in Eltville-Rauenthal, has personally experienced the challenges of short-term train cancellations that made planning impossible, particularly during the day. Nicolas Kunz, chairman of the Young Union, has stated that unreliable trains and insufficient replacement traffic are "untenable" and "unacceptable."
