In a significant move, fintech company Revolut has announced the appointment of Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgier as the CEO for its new Western Europe headquarters based in Paris. This strategic decision marks an important step in Revolut’s expansion in continental Europe, with the Paris office acting as a key hub for the company’s banking operations in Western Europe.

### Background

Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgier, with her strong finance and consulting background, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Prior to joining Revolut, she spent over a decade at BNP Paribas, rising to the position of chief executive of personal investors. Her career also includes senior roles at McKinsey and the French Ministry of Finance, reflecting deep expertise in both private sector banking and public financial administration.

### Role Objectives

In her new position, Cossa-Dumurgier's primary focus is to secure Revolut’s banking licence from the French banking regulator, the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR), and the European Central Bank (ECB). She will oversee the development and regulatory engagement of Revolut’s Western European activities.

Cossa-Dumurgier will work closely alongside Revolut’s global leadership, fitting into a dual-hub structure within the EU where another hub operates out of Lithuania. Strategic oversight remains with Revolut’s global Chief Banking Officer Sid Jajodia in London, while Cossa-Dumurgier leads the Western Europe regional operations within this framework.

### A Promising Future

Cossa-Dumurgier herself expressed her excitement about leading what she called Revolut’s “most ambitious banking project in Europe today”. She emphasized her commitment to building lasting trust with customers and regulators across France and Europe.

In summary, Cossa-Dumurgier brings extensive banking experience and a strong regulatory focus to her role as Revolut’s Western Europe CEO. Her goal is to establish Revolut firmly in the French and wider Western European banking ecosystem through regulatory approvals and operational growth.
