In the Krasnoyarsk region, neglected land is back in the government's hands. After agricultural inspections by Rosсліхознадзор, hundreds of hectares of uncultivated land were returned to the region's ownership when landowners failed to use the land for farming as required.

Recently, a court decision mandated the confiscation of an underutilized 17.01-hectare parcel in the Berezovsky district from its owner, according to the regional Rosсліхознадзor [Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance]. The area was overgrown with weeds and trees, making it clear that livestock weren't being grazed, hay wasn't being cut, and no agricultural crops were being grown.

When these violations were initially discovered in 2020, the owner was fined and repeatedly issued warnings, which were ignored. After negotiation with the region's Property Management Agency, the land was seized and put up for auction with the intent to sell it. The court ruling came a year later.

In total, since the start of 2021, Rosсліхознадзor has confiscated 6 parcels with a combined area of 297.9 hectares from negligent owners in the districts of Kozyulsky, Ilyansky, Berezovsky, Kazachinsky, and Sukhobuzimsky.
