Pozorrubio Welcomes First Commercial Bank Branch: DBP Opens Doors to Financial Inclusion
Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, has welcomed its first commercial bank branch, with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) inaugurating a Branch Lite Unit in the town's Community Building on September 26. This marks a significant step towards financial inclusion for residents and businesses in the area. Until now, Pozorrubio had been served by only one commercial bank. DBP's entry into the market aims to provide better banking services to the underserved population. The new mini-branch offers essential services such as deposits, withdrawals, loan applications, and financial advisory, catering to residents, farmers, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and local government beneficiaries in Pozorrubio and nearby towns. DBP First Vice President Maria Dolores Guevara noted the significance of the new branch, stating that it is the first of its kind in the province. The bank's goal is to promote financial inclusion and drive development by expanding access to banking services in underserved areas. With the opening of DBP's Branch Lite Unit, Pozorrubio residents and businesses now have improved access to financial news. The new branch is expected to boost economic activity and support local development by providing loans and other financial services tailored to the needs of the community.
