Popular Indian Cars Get Major Price Cuts After GST 2.0
Several popular car models in India have received significant price cuts due to the implementation of GST 2.0. This includes the Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, and Hyundai Verna, with reductions ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹1.20 lakh.
The Honda Amaze has seen the most substantial cut, with its top ZX CVT petrol variant now ₹1.20 lakh cheaper. Even the lower manual trims have witnessed price cuts between ₹80,000 and ₹90,000. This move by Honda is expected to boost sales, as it makes the compact sedan more affordable for price-sensitive customers.
Tata Motors has also reduced prices for the Tigor. The XZ Plus CNG variant is now ₹81,000 cheaper, while petrol and automatic trims have also benefited significantly. Similarly, Hyundai has slashed prices for the Aura, with the SX Plus AMT variant now ₹76,000 cheaper. Several other CNG and manual variants have also seen reductions of ₹70,000 or more.
Maruti Suzuki has not been left behind in this price war. The Dzire's ZXi Plus AMT variant is now ₹88,000 cheaper, with most higher trims shedding at least ₹80,000. Hyundai's Verna has also received price cuts, with the flagship SX (O) Turbo DCT variant now ₹60,000 cheaper and other top trims seeing reductions of over ₹50,000.
These price cuts are a strategic move by auto manufacturers to make their cars more affordable and attractive to customers. With the reduction in GST rates, manufacturers have passed on the benefits to consumers, leading to a more competitive market and potentially increased sales.
