PointsBet Welcomes MIXI Execs to Board, Reflecting 66.43% Stake

PointsBet has reshuffled its Board of Directors, welcoming three senior executives from MIXI. This move aligns MIXI's representation with its 66.43% voting power. Five existing board members have stepped down.

Sho Okuyama, currently managing TIPSTAR and serving as a MIXI Australia director, joined PointsBet's Board in February 2022. Kanji Kobayashi, MIXI Australia's legal affairs general manager and director, also joined the board. Taishi Oba, who joined MIXI in 2024, is the third new addition.

Brett Paton continues as chairman, and Sam Swanell remains on the board as managing director. Departing board members include Becky Harris, Tony Symons, Kosha Gada, Peter McCluskey, and William Grounds.

PointsBet's share price closed 2.49% higher at A$1.03 per share in Sydney following the board changes. The new board composition reflects MIXI's significant stake in PointsBet, potentially influencing the company's strategic direction.
