Bramschtunnel Maintenance Scheduled for September 2023

The Bramschtunnel in Dresden, a crucial traffic route, will undergo maintenance from September 18 to September 28, 2023. The maintenance work includes safety inspections, repairs, and upgrades, all aimed at ensuring the tunnel's continued safety and efficiency.

The maintenance work will be divided into two phases. From September 18 to September 25, the north tube of the Bramschtunnel will be completely closed. During this period, traffic will be rerouted via the opposite tube. From September 25 to September 28, the south tube will be closed, and once again, traffic will be affected.

On the night of September 21, the Bramschtunnel will be completely closed for a short duration. This closure is not part of the maintenance work but is likely due to other reasons.

During the maintenance, emergency exits in the Bramschtunnel will be brought up to standard, and the tunnel lighting will be upgraded. The total costs of the maintenance work are approximately 350,000 Euros.

It is important to note that this maintenance work is part of the overall maintenance plan for the Bramschtunnel in Dresden. The work schedule has been planned to minimise disruption and will likely cover tasks such as structural reinforcements, lighting upgrades, ventilation checks, or surface repaving.

For precise schedule, closure details, and rerouting plans, it is best to consult official Dresden city traffic updates, the Saxony state transport department, or the tunnel operator’s announcements as the date approaches. The maintenance work does not change the fact that traffic will be affected due to the Bramschtunnel's closure from September 18 to September 28.

The city's outskirts will experience closure of the Bramschtunnel's north tube from September 18 to September 25, and the south tube from September 25 to September 28. The maintenance work does not affect the closure schedule previously mentioned (from September 18 to September 28, with night closure on September 21), or the traffic rerouting plan during the north and south tube closures.

We advise motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and to stay updated on the latest traffic updates as the maintenance work approaches.
