Paris Saint-Germain aims to re-attempt acquiring a prominent Real Madrid player during the winter transfer period, as suggested by RMC reports.

Paris Saint-Germain is still eyeing a major Real Madrid star, as indicated by RMC Sport's recent report, with an alleged interest in Rodrygo. The Brazilian winger has been in excellent form for Los Blancos this season, contributing to 10 goals and 7 assists in 27 matches.

The French giants' interest in Rodrygo isn't merely a matter of sporting reasons, though. According to some sources, this move could be a form of retaliation against Real Madrid, following Kylian Mbappé's departure last summer.

In Madrid, Rodrygo has been facing intense competition, particularly with Mbappé's arrival. Despite his impressive form, he might not secure sufficient playing time during crucial games. This could potentially make him more open to a move to Paris, where he could potentially become the main man in attack.

However, acquiring Rodrygo won't come cheap. His contract with Real Madrid runs until 2028, and his release clause is set at €1 billion. PSG will have to dig deep into their pockets to bring the 22-year-old winger to the Parc des Princes.

This potential move could be a significant turning point for PSG, as they aim to rebuild their team in the post-Mbappé era. Kylian's departure was a significant statement from PSG, paving the way for them to build a squad of young talents. By securing the services of a versatile, high-performing player like Rodrygo, they could take the next step towards solidifying a new era for the French champions.

Negotiations between both clubs are still uncertain, and Rodrygo's decision will be based on several factors, including his current role and opportunities at Real Madrid, as well as the offer put forth by PSG. Ultimately, if the transfer goes through, it could prove to be a masterstroke for the French champions.

Luis Enrique, the former PSG manager, might be instrumental in convincing Rodrygo to join Paris Saint-Germain, given their shared history from their time at Real Madrid.

Should Jude Bellingham decide to leave Borussia Dortmund, Rodrygo's potential move to PSG could create a vacancy in Real Madrid's attack, allowing Bellingham to secure a prestigious position at his dream club.

Carlo Ancelotti, Rodrygo's current manager at Real Madrid, may need to consider whether nurturing the young talent within his squad or allowing him to thrive at a different club would be more beneficial for the long-term success of Real Madrid.
