Orem Joins UAMPS for Major Solar & Storage PPA

Orem, a Utah city, has joined Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS) and recently discussed a significant solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) power purchase agreement (PPA). The agreement, negotiated with Longroad Energy, involves the Fremont Solar & Storage project.

UAMPS, a political subdivision of Utah providing wholesale energy services, has 50 member utilities across seven western US states. Heber Light & Power (HL&P), a UAMPS member, revealed details about the PPA during its board meeting. The PPA relates to offtake from Longroad's Fremont Solar and Storage project, set to connect to PacifiCorp's transmission system in Utah.

The agreement ensures a stable and sustainable energy source for Orem and other UAMPS members. It aligns with UAMPS' commitment to renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions.

UAMPS, through its member HL&P, has finalised a PPA with Longroad Energy for the Fremont Solar & Storage project. This agreement brings clean, reliable energy to Orem and other UAMPS members, marking a significant step towards Utah's renewable energy goals.
