Northern Christian Leaders Inaugurate NOCRELA, Bishop Daniel as Chairman, Eyeing Unity and Nation Building
The Northern Christian Religious Leaders Assembly (NOCRELA) was officially inaugurated in Abuja, with a focus on 'The Role of Christian Leaders in Nation Building'. Bishop Daniel was installed as National Chairman, Most Rev. Marcus Amfani as Vice Chairman, and Rev. Simon Dolly as Secretary General. The event was marked by optimism about Nigeria's future under President Bola Tinubu.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, expressed confidence in Nigeria's progress. He cited the growing GDP (4.4%) and foreign reserves (USD 42 billion) as evidence of the country's economic momentum. Akume also praised Tinubu's leadership, stating that Nigeria is 'on the move' and 'getting close to the Promised Land'.
Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel, the outgoing National Chairman, emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among Christian leaders in the north. Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, the Grand Patron, echoed this sentiment, stating that NOCRELA aims to provide a platform for northern Christians to express themselves and promote peace and unity. Bogoro also called for collective effort to address insecurity and promote cooperation among different groups in Nigeria.
