Nio, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced a series of significant developments. The company has cut the prices of all its 100-kWh long-range models by $2,780, aiming to make electric vehicles more accessible to a wider audience.

In a separate announcement, Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) revealed that it will release its unaudited second-quarter financial results on September 2, before the opening of US stock markets. The company's management, including founder and CEO William Li and Chief Financial Officer Stanley Qu, will host an earnings conference call on the same day at 8:00 AM US Eastern time (8:00 pm Beijing time) to discuss the results in detail.

The second quarter has been a period of robust growth for Nio. The company delivered 72,056 vehicles, a 25.59 percent year-on-year increase and a 71.18 percent quarter-on-quarter increase. This strong performance was reflected in the deliveries of both the Nio main brand and its sub-brands. The main brand delivered 47,132 vehicles, a 72.56 percent increase from the first quarter, while sub-brand Onvo delivered 17,081 vehicles, marking a 15.56 percent increase from the previous quarter.

Another sub-brand, Firefly, also made strides during this period. Firefly, which launched its first model, the Firefly EV, on April 19 and began its first deliveries on April 29, delivered 7,843 vehicles in the second quarter.

Nio also launched a new product under its Onvo sub-brand on July 29. The L90 electric SUV began deliveries on August 1 and has received a positive initial response, with the company currently struggling to meet delivery demand.

Looking ahead, Nio is set to unveil the third-generation ES8 electric SUV tomorrow. However, the official launch of the third-generation ES8 is scheduled for Nio Day 2025 in September.

The financial results for the first quarter of the year showed a net loss of RMB 6.75 billion, an increase of 30.19 percent year-on-year. The price reduction and the strong sales growth in the second quarter are expected to have a positive impact on Nio's financial performance moving forward.
