University of Southampton Appoints Rory Miles as Principal Enterprise Fellow
Rory Miles has joined the University of Southampton's startup accelerator as Principal Enterprise Fellow, a role that sees him act as a senior advisor and mentor to early-stage companies.
Miles, who has extensive experience working with researchers, funding bodies, industry, and innovators, will be central to the long-term growth of the startup accelerator. His role will focus on driving strategic business growth, expanding the processes used by the accelerator to support aspiring founders, and increasing the scale, reach, and impact of the programme.
Ben Clark, the Director of the University of Southampton's startup accelerator, believes that Miles will quickly make a difference due to his wealth of experience. "We are delighted to have Rory on board," Clark said. "His expertise and connections will be invaluable as we continue to support students and researchers to launch successful startups and spinouts."
The University of Southampton's startup accelerator currently supports over 380 employees and has collectively raised over £78m in investment. With Miles' help, the accelerator aims to continue growing and making a positive impact on the local economy.
Miles is no stranger to the world of innovation, having sat on university innovation panels and boards in the past. His most recent role was Innovation Programme Manager for Southern Water.
Outside of work, Miles enjoys swimming, crossfit, lino printing, and spending time with his dog, Nigel.
