In a significant move to address the growing demand for lower-cost, high-quality co-living spaces in London, Bridge, HUB, and City Developments Limited (CDL) have joined forces to develop the Yardhouse scheme in Wood Lane.

The Yardhouse development, part of Bridges' ongoing commitment to best-in-class developments in needs-driven sectors, is set to be the first project in HUB's growing co-living pipeline. The project will also provide a new headquarters for Women's Pioneer Housing (WPH), offering 60 new, affordable homes for single women.

Damien Sharkey, managing director at HUB, expressed confidence in the resilience of the real estate market and the appeal of the co-living asset class. He stated that this deal strengthens their commitment to innovative and inclusive housing solutions. Simon Ringer, Bridges' head of property, echoed these sentiments, commenting that the deal reflects the strong demand in London for such spaces.

The Yardhouse development, located near Westfield, White City Place, Television Centre, and Imperial College London's campus, aims to create a vibrant and dynamic living environment that aligns with modern lifestyle preferences and better serves local needs. The development will consist of 209 co-living homes and high-quality amenity spaces.

The collaboration with Hammersmith and Fulham Council was vital in bringing this development to life, with the Yardhouse development site being chosen as the best for co-living. The development will replace 36 existing WPH homes and 300 sqm of office space.

Damien Sharkey is particularly excited about partnering with CDL on its first co-living development in the UK. The development will feature two roof terraces, offering views across London.
