2026 Hyundai Palisade Redesign: Premium Comfort and Technology at a Mainstream Price

The second-generation Hyundai Palisade, set to arrive in U.S. stores in September 2022, promises to build on its predecessor's strengths with enhanced technology, new safety features, improved interior luxury, and a potent V6 engine.

The redesigned 2026 Palisade features a refined and upscale interior with a dual panoramic screen setup similar to the 2026 Ioniq 9, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard, and an improved ergonomics including a new column-mounted gear shifter replacing the old button layout. Powering the vehicle is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine producing 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, offering confident power and improved fuel economy compared to the first generation. A hybrid powertrain is planned to arrive later in the year.

Key new features include an in-car intercom, configurable ambient lighting, a dual-pane sunroof, head-up display, surround-view monitor, two USB-C ports in every row, and a large UV-C sterilization compartment replacing the smaller dashboard cubby. Safety improvements bring a new safe-exit warning system with visual indicators on rear doors, alongside standard forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, front and rear parking sensors, and others in Hyundai’s Smart Sense suite.

The Palisade also introduces its first-ever XRT ProGrade trim aimed at off-road enthusiasts with unique styling elements like blacked-out grille and red recovery hooks. The vehicle is larger than before, preserving its three-row seating and comfort.

Regarding pricing, the 2026 Palisade starts at $40,430 for the front-wheel-drive SE model and maxes out around $60,000 for the all-wheel-drive Calligraphy trim. Adding all-wheel drive to the Palisade adds $2,000 to the price, and destination charges are $1,395.

During test drives in Napa and Sonoma counties, the Palisade proved impressively composed with precise steering, tight body control, and a quiet cabin. The powertrain feels smoother and quieter, aligning with the Palisade's comfort-first mission.

U.S. sales of the Palisade rose 6.8% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The hybrid variant, aimed to bolster the Palisade's standing among electrified competitors like the Toyota Grand Highlander and Honda Pilot Hybrid, is expected to launch in late 2025. The second-generation Palisade is assembled at Hyundai's Ulsan, South Korea, plant, similar to the first-generation model. The 2026 redesign makes the Palisade 2.5 inches longer overall, with a 2.7-inch stretch in wheelbase and slight gains in width and height. The new engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers front- or all-wheel drive.

The second-generation Palisade's redesign incorporates advanced technologies, with a dual panoramic screen setup reminiscent of the 2026 Ioniq 9, and an improved interior luxury that includes features from the finance industry, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standards. The automotive sector comes into play through the introduction of a potent 3.5-liter V6 engine, suitable for industries like transportation, with confidence-inspiring power and improved fuel economy.
