Nearly 18,000 Porsche automobiles are subject to a product recall due to problems with the airbags and rearview cameras.

Get a quick rundown of the big news from FoxBusiness.com for April 14.

More than 18,000 Porsche vehicles are being recalled due to airbag and rearview camera problems. The reports, filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), mention two recalls: one for 9,735 of the 2022-2023 Taycan sports cars and another for 8,571 of the 2024-2025 Macan electric crossovers.

Regarding the Taycans, a manufacturing error in their occupant classification system might cause the front passenger seat airbag to malfunction. Porsche Cars North America says affected owners can get a new optimized front passenger seat cushion for free.

For the recalled Macan EVs, the recall addresses a software issue that prevented the rearview camera image from showing when the vehicle is in reverse. Porsche will provide a new software data set to address the issue, along with reserve camera inspections and replacements if necessary.

In another automotive news, Elon Musk's Tesla {recals} most Cybertrucks due to a risk associated with the trim panels. Other brands like Audi also recall certain vehicles due to issues such as non-functioning instrument panel displays.

"Safety is always our top priority," said Porsche Cars North America. They continue to monitor customer vehicles and react quickly when issues are identified. Audi similarly expressed concern for customer safety and the quality of their vehicles.

It is essential to note that no accidents or injuries have resulted from these issues as mentioned in the recall reports. Porsche will notify affected Macan and Taycan vehicle owners in early June, while Audi owners can expect a letter later in May.
