Mumbai Capital Markets ally, JSA, extends their successful run together.
J Sagar Associates (JSA) has strengthened its Mumbai office with the addition of Mathew Thomas as a partner. Thomas brings with him over 13 years of experience in the legal field, having worked at Khaitan & Co., Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., and most recently, AK Capital Services.
Thomas's expertise lies in foreign investments, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, REITs, rights issues, and IPOs. His clients come from various industries such as technology, finance, green energy, retail, hospitality, textiles, electronics, entertainment, real estate, power, and roads.
The hiring of Mathew Thomas continues a steady stream of partner additions by JSA. Earlier this month, the firm welcomed a four-member M&A and PE team in Mumbai, led by equity partner Siddharth Mody, from Desai & Diwanji.
It's worth noting that Sandeep, who has been a partner at JSA since 2008 and specializes in foreign investments and mergers and acquisitions, was the recent partner addition at JSA, not Mathew Thomas.
In addition to Mathew Thomas, JSA has also hired Anirudh Kapoor and Gaurav Wahie from Trilegal and Bahrain's Almoayed Chambers, respectively. Shraddha Krishnan Dash was previously hired by JSA from Trilegal in Gurugram.

Before working for Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, Thomas was employed at Khaitan & Co. Prior to joining AK Capital last year, he had a short stint at Trilegal.
Varun Sehgal joined JSA in Mumbai from hotel aggregator Oyo Hotels and Homes, where he was VP legal. It's unclear if there have been any other recent partner additions at JSA beyond Sandeep and the aforementioned hires.
