Moschino Names Adrian Appiolaza as New Creative Director
Moschino has named Adrian Appiolaza as its new creative director, succeeding Davide Renne who passed away just nine days after his appointment in November 2023. Appiolaza will report directly to Aeffe's executive chairman, Massimo Ferretti.
Appiolaza's first collection for Moschino will debut at the fall-winter 2024 women's show on February 22. Prior to this role, he served as women's ready-to-wear design director at Loewe and Chloé. Appiolaza will oversee women's, men's, and accessories collections at Moschino.
Moschino's appointment comes after a period of change. Jeremy Scott, who led the brand for a decade, left in March 2023. Aeffe, which acquired Moschino in 1999 and fully bought it in 2021 for over 66.5 million euros, has seen its consolidated revenue decline by 9.5% to 319 million euros in fiscal 2023.
Adrian Appiolaza takes the helm at Moschino, following Davide Renne's untimely passing. Appiolaza's first collection is set for February 2024. Aeffe, Moschino's parent company, has faced revenue declines but hopes Appiolaza's appointment will bring fresh creativity and renewed success.
