Maruti Suzuki Reports Record September 2025 Production, Exports

Maruti Suzuki, India's leading carmaker, has reported a significant increase in production and sales for September 2025. The company produced 201,915 units, a 26.5% rise from the previous year, driven by relaxed GST rates and festive demand. Sales also grew by 2.7% year-on-year, reaching 189,665 units.

The company's production had a mixed trajectory over the summer. In June 2025, production dipped for the first time in nine months, with 127,504 units produced, a year-on-year decline. However, production surged in July 2025 to 187,073 units, boosted by strong output of passenger cars and utility vehicles. August 2025 saw a seasonal adjustment, with production easing to 158,202 units.

Domestic sales in September 2025 softened by 8.3% to 135,711 units due to logistical constraints. Despite this, the compact segment remained the volume driver, with 66,882 units sold, a 10.6% year-on-year gain. Exports reached a record high of 42,204 units, a 52% increase on global demand. Notably, the e Vitara electric SUV saw around 6,068 units exported to the UK and several European Union countries, with plans also for Japan.

Maruti Suzuki's near-term performance is expected to be bolstered by production ramp-ups and export momentum. Despite logistical challenges, the company has shown resilience, with production and sales volumes increasing year-on-year. The company's focus on the compact segment and electric vehicle exports is likely to continue driving growth.
